Just a short drive from downtown Detroit, the Pointe Mouillee State Game Area is home to a multitude of wildlife allowing for wonderful recreational opportunities such as hunting, fishing, hiking, kayaking and birdwatching. Thanks to extensive wetlands restoration and habitat management since the 1970s, Pointe Mouillee has seen a dramatic increase in the number of wildlife that inhabit the area. Depending on the season, you may see marsh birds, shorebirds, waterfowl, raptors and songbirds, pheasants, rabbits, deer and more.
