Located just a short drive from downtown Detroit, just off I-75 in Rockwood, is Pointe Mouillee State Game Area. This area is great for wildlife viewing and photography, and springtime is the perfect time to see birds and other waterfowl as many are migrating north to their summer homes. Species such as ducks, geese, herons, eagles, osprey, egrets and many more are often seen this time of year. And thanks to the wildlife management and conservation efforts these species continue to thrive at this location. If wildlife viewing isn't really your thing, there are also plenty of opportunities to fish, boat, hike and hunt.
