A lot of hard work takes place to ensure Michigan's natural resources remain beautiful for generations. One organization hard at work is West Michigan's Cooperative Invasive Species Management Area. They are currently fighting an invasive species that is hurting Hemlock trees in Ottawa County. The invasive species is called Hemlock Woolly Adelgid, a small insect that only feeds on Hemlock trees. Once infected, the tree will die in five to 10 years. Luckily, many West Michigan volunteers are helping to ensure that Michigan's Hemlock trees will be here for many years to come.
