When thinking about places to get away this summer, you may not be considering Detroit - but think again. Belle Isle Park and Milliken State Park are both perfect places for activities such as riding a bike, picnicking along the riverfront, fishing, boating and more. If you're new to fishing, there are classes for first time anglers, the park's Outdoor Explorer Guide will show you how to bait a line and get you ready to catch a fish. On a rainy day, just across the street from Milliken State Park , you can visit the Outdoor Adventure Center, which is great place for people to learn more about Michigan's outdoor recreation and natural resource conservation.
