The Michigan Department of Natural Resource's Outdoor Adventure Center, located in downtown Detroit, seeks to give visitors a taste of Michigan’s great outdoors through hands-on activities, exhibits and simulators, allowing its visitors the chance to experience exciting outdoor adventures in the heart of the city. At the Outdoor Adventure Center, visitors have the opportunity to learn about how the DNR manages state parks, forests, waters and wildlife, by climbing the roots and exploring the canopy of a massive bur oak tree, hopping aboard a real airplane, and seeing what is swimming in their aquarium.
